Hotel, retail set near ABIA
$60M project would include Marriott
Austin Business Journal - August 31, 2007ABJ StaffAn Arkansas development firm has snagged 31 acres near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport where a hotel, retail and industrial space will soon spring up.
CSK Hotels of Fort Smith recently closed on the property at 7000 E. Ben White Blvd. between Montopolis and Riverside drives. The company plans to start construction soon on a 120-room Marriott hotel that would open about 18 months later, and three or four pad sites likely to be developed as restaurants, a gas station or other retail. CSK also plans to sell part of the land for an industrial development. Proper zoning is already in place for the roughly $60 million project, and a site plan is in the works.
